It started out pretty slow and after a couple hours it was time for a move.
I started making calls and El Jefe was wide open, so we ran south. The troll bite was strong and we ended up plugging the boat with 39. What an amazing year. Mike C

Craig and Darrell went back to the honey hole.
A bit of wind made it a troll game, but the troll bite was very good and they plugged the boat. Mike C Craig and Darrell were at it again today.
Same spot, same results. A great troll bite that turned into a WFO bait stop. What an amazing start to the season. Mike C We ran out to the 125 line and trolled up a few fish when Legendz called us in.
A quad on the troll turned into a WFO bait stop where we put around 40-50 on the deck. Every bait got bit within 10 seconds. We were plugged by 10:10 or so, so we cleaned up. One of our crew is an amazing sushi chef and he brought all of the fixings and started to make sushi on the bait tank with an albacore that we caught an hour earlier. We trolled east with one rod out and managed to pick three more on the troll while we ate sushi. This was one of my all time best tuna trips and the season is just getting going. Mike C The title is all I know as the guys texted me at 12:30.
This is the best start to a season we have ever had. Mike C Craig and Darrell ran out to the spot where we plugged the boat yesterday.
Super solid fishing and their 4 angler crew ended the day with a 9 fish stop. 2025 is shaping up to be 2019 all over again and we can't wait. Mike C Fishing is great right now and should only get better.
We ran 35 miles SW and were into fish all day, except for the lunch break that tuna often take. Our crew plugged the boat with a very good grade of tuna. Mike C We needed 40 more fish for tradeouts and we got them plus a few more.
The bait bite slowed up but the troll bite was good. What an amazing start to the season. Mike C Me, John, Nick, Craiger, and crew headed around 35 miles straight out where we found blue, 62 degree water.
We were into fish right away had lots of doubles and triples on the troll with 2-6 bait fish on pretty much every stop. By noon we had 57 and were out of ice. A very good grade of fish. On the way in around 23 miles out we ran into some BIG BFT jumping and we trolled Mad Macs on our heavy gear but got no love. There is a ton of bait in the canyon right now and the tuna are feeding on the surface which is usually real good for tuna fishing. What a great way to start the year. Mike C 7/10 shakedown on Legendz. 5 guys get 60 fish. Solid fishing on a great boat with a great crew.7/11/2025 Yesterday Craiger, me, and a few buddies were invited to be the customers on a 1.5 day trip on Legendz.
We had a great trip last year and this year did not disappoint. Mark Coleman out of Westport found some fish and called us in. Despite the full moon, we had solid fishing and ended up with 60, 1/2 on troll and 1/2 on bait. For anyone who wants to do a 1.5 day trip in the NW, these guys are the way to go. https://legendz.976-tuna.com/ Cpt Mike |
