Darrell and Mike P headed out today all jacked up after yesterday.
The ocean was sporty and got worse. I knew they were in trouble when Mark Coleman texted me looking for info, as everyone was having a hard time fishing in the slop. I don't have a final report, but they were single digits around 2:00. Saturday's forecast is looking better but not great. Mike C

Our crew wanted to be back at the dock by 2:00.
I said, good luck, but Cpt Darrell and Cpt Craig, said no problem. They went back to the honey hole and were in fish right away. By 1:30 they were back at the dock with 40 plus fat tuna. Fishing is excellent right now. Cpt Mike Our crew was light and the customers asked me if I wanted to be a fisherman for the day and I could not resist.
We ran out around 38 miles and were into fish immediately. Fishing was amazing and never let up. We ended up with 6 guys with sore arms and 61 fat tuna. Captain Mike We ran deep SW past the corners to the commercial fleet.
It was hot right away with 9 fish hitting the deck in the first 20 minutes or so. Then it died. We were marking TONS of bait and tuna as we trolled SW. We picked off fish here and there until we had 26 and it was time to go. We knew it would go WFO, as there were fish stacked everywhere. It did, 30 minutes after we left, and a buddy crushed it and ended up with 46. The good news is that there are a lot of fish 36 miles out. Cpt Darrel and Cpt Craig are at it in the AM. Cpt Mike |
