CREW

Your crew will consist of one captain and one deckhand.
The 3 to 1 ratio of fishermen to crew is hard to beat, giving us lots of time for hands on teaching.

Captain Mike, Owner

Picture
Captain Mike has been fishing out of the Columbia River for over 30 years.  He has a 100 Ton Masters license and is a tuna fanatic.  Captain Mike has won the Deep Canyon Challenge and competed in the IGFA Offshore World Championship.

Captain Clark

Picture
Captain Clark has been chasing tuna since he was a child.  He was raised in Southern California and spent most of his life devoted to catching tuna off of the coast of California and Mexico.  Fishing is Clark’s life.  He is happiest on a boat and is just as excited about the next fish as he was about the thousands that he has caught.  Clark always has a smile on his face and always has time to help a newbie master livebait tuna fishing.  He has caught nearly every species of pelagic fish from Costa Rica to Canada, and has won the Deep Canyon Challenge and competed in the IGFA Offshore World Championship.  You will be very hard pressed to find anyone who loves to fish as much as Clark and who is as talented a fisherman.

Captain Darrel

Picture
Captain Darrel loves to fish and it shows every time he gets on a boat.  He was part of the crew that brought Shake N Bake through the Panama Canal and and works both as a captain and a deckhand.  He always has time to answer questions and help you work on your tuna skills and make sure you have fun.

Captain Mike

Picture
Mike P. is an OG tuna fisherman who ran a tuna charter with his dad back in San Diego in the 80’s.  He has been with team Shake N Bake since our first tuna trip back in 2007, and was a member of the winning tuna tournament team.  Mike loves to fish and loves teaching people how to catch tuna.

John, Deckhand

Picture
John has been chasing tuna and pelagic fish in the NW and Mexico for over 30 years.  He was part of teams that won the Deep Canyon Challenge in 2014 and the Oregon Tuna Classic in 2016.  John competed in the IGFA Offshore World Championship in 2015.  John also has his captain's license, but would rather run the deck than drive the boat.  John is passionate about Albacore fishing and literally wrote the book on live bait tuna fishing, Livebait 101.

Jenn, the person who gets things done.

Picture
Jennifer does all of scheduling, runs the books, and makes sure that you know the when, where, and what.  She helped bring Shake N Bake home through the Panama Canal and knows the boat pretty well.

Deny, Chief Engineer

Picture
Deny is the guy who keeps everything working.

Deny is a shipwright and all around boat genius who is in charge Shake N Bake.  He is the #1 reason why we have yet to lose a day to a mechanical issue (except when DirtyE hits things).  Without Deny, the boat would spend a lot of time tied up to the dock rather than fishing.
