We ran around 60 miles NW where Clark found them yesterday.
Right away we started marking TONS of bait ball, probably the most I have ever seen. We could see the tuna underneath them at 15-25 feet. At 1:30 they came up and it was WFO for a few minutes and then it died. We ended up with 13 and a lot of head scratching, as we cannot figure out why they would not come up and play. Sitting out the big wind for a few days and then at it again next week. Captain Mike

Clark texted that the ocean was horrible in the AM and improved in the PM.
A fair number of opportunities but the conditions made it hard to convert. They have around 12 tuna. Running DEEP tomorrow as it is likely the last day the ocean lets us fish for awhile. Captain Mike Clark ran deep SW.
They got them going good a number of times. All of his crew, except one, were first timers. Clark said they went from newbies to killers and are already talking about their next trip. I remember the day that ruined me in 2006, life has never been the same since. Clark is at it again in the AM. Captain Mike It started out slow but we got a a few bait stops going but could not convert and ended up with 16 fish.
AFTER we left and got cell service, I got a text that it went WFO, but were 40 miles away by then. Clark is at it in the AM. Mike C After some slow days, we got a couple of good reports from south of Garibaldi.
We ran 78 miles SW and were into fish right away. We started marking bait and seeing jumpers and sliding in on them. We only had 5 people fishing and limited time on station, but we put 40 fat tuna in the box. John and I are at it in the morning. Captain Mike |
