DD and SNB had better fishing.
The farther we get away from the full moon and the big blow the better it should get. Captain Mike Mark Coleman had very good fishing up north yesterday, so DD and SNB headed that way.
I knew my guys were screwed hen Mark texted me at noon looking for intel. The bite up north died- DD got one and SNB got skunked. The good news is that some Ilwaco charters that stayed close to home did much better. It is always tough to find fish after a big blow comes through and turns over the water, as it can take 2-3 days for the water to set up again. Captain Mike After a big blow like we just had, the water gets turned over and it takes awhile to find the fish.
The Ilwaco fleet spread out and fishing was pretty slow. SNB found a decent pile of fish and was in the high teens. DD was a little south and got a few. The good news is our buddy Mark Coleman's boats had a very good day and DD and SNB are headed north today. https://allriversguideservice.com/ Captain Mike DD and SNB both found the fish.
It was a little slower than the day before but they got 67 fish between the two boats. The wind is blowing and the swell is big, so we are shut down for a few days. Captain Mike SNB and DD went back to the honey hole from yesterday and saw tons of bait boiling and trolled around for a bit with zero fish.
Something felt off. We called in a buddy who said it was WFO and we ran downhill for 40 minutes and put in. We were in the fish right away and called DD in. Pretty soon both boats were getting a lot of troll fish, but not a great bait bite. DD headed towards the barn and SNB made one last pass of our troll spot. We got a quad and then all hell broke loose. Fish were boiling everywhere and the sonar was all lit up. 25 minutes later John FORCED us to quit as we were plugged plus. Amazing fishing. The boys will be at it in the AM. Captain Mike We ran deep today and it was worth.
We had a bunch of practice stops in the first hour and then the crew got it and 1.5 hours later we were plugged with PIGS and headed home before noon. Double Down had 40 we left. Amazing fishing right now. Captain Mike DD ended up with 52 tuna today and SNB had around 30.
At again tomorrow. Captain Mike I just got a text from John and Darrell.
Fishing sucked today. One fish. The boats in the area did better, but nobody did well. Not sure why, as fishing had been solid for a few days. Captain Mike |
