Three trips in 4 days wore me out, but what a way to end the season.
Lots of birds, jumpers and biting tuna.
3 days of excellent fishing and made some new friends.
Mike P and Darrell ran deep today and found a bunch of big fish.
The ended up with 37 pigs.
Mike P and big John ran today.
It started out good and then the wind picked up and the ocean got sloppy.
They kept at it and ended up almost plugged with 34 big tuna.
Sitting out the wind tomorrow but at it again on Monday.
Mike P and Craig went back where there have been a lot of fish that were not cooperating.
That changed big time.
They plugged the boat with big tuna, made some lifetime memories, and tired some kids out.
A buddy nearby had FOUR dorado!!
This year has been amazing and is only getting better.,
We ran out to the same spot that was hot the day before.
The commercial fleet was working the area hard and we go into fish pretty quick.
Then it died and everyone scattered.
We ran SW a bit and found birds, bait, and tuna.
We chased boils for 4 hours with only one more fish to end the day at 7 fish.
The fish we did catch were stuffed with bait, making me think that they were full and off the bite.
The amount of bait and tuna out there right now is amazing.
Mike P and Darrell ruined some lives today for some first timers.
The left late and were done early with 40 fish and busted off another 25 or so.
Mike P and Darrell were at it today.
The found a bunch of fish that would not bite and ended up with 17.
North and south were much, much better.
Darrell and Mike P took newbies out today and ruined them.
They plugged the boat on a pretty decent ocean.
Too bad it is going to blow for a few days, so we are shut down.
Fishing off of Southern Oregon is red hot and the fish are headed this way, so I think September and October should be very, very good.
Darrell and Mike P were at it today.
It was a light load with only 4 clients.
The ocean was more than sporty, but they still managed 37 fish by 1:00 and headed home.
The guys are at it again today and then we stand down for the big blow.
Dorado have shown up, three were caught by sport boats on Saturday, and my guys want one.
September is going to be an interesting month as that is when the BFT, marlin, dorado, and other exotics tend to show up. Stay tuned.
I just got a text from Mike P.
Fishing is great right now and will likely get better until the tuna disappear in October.
