Tuna finally showed up in good enough numbers for us to run.
We ran 60 miles SW on a flat ocean. We got out to a spot that had produced good numbers the two previous days and started trolling. After a few hours we got a quad on the troll, but they would not touch the bait or iron. 5 or so hours later we got another quad and one on iron and that was it for the day. Unfortunately the boats around us did worse and the two charters that went on 7/20 got 1 fish for 20 rods. Ouch. We are sitting it out for a few days. The good news is that I talked to a buddy who has been on the fish for 10 days and he has followed them north from the border and is almost west of Ilwaco. There is a huge mass of tuna headed our way and they should be within our range in 4-7 days. Captain Mike
