The ocean has been roaring lately, but the crab boats were back at it today.
Fishing has been good, but a bunch of crabbers were nearly put out of business. A number of crabbers sold their crab to Jessie's and got stiffed for a good chunk of their pay. Luckily, Mike at Ilwaco Landing stepped up and has been buying and PAYING for the crab and has saved the season for a bunch of Ilwaco boats. Accurate stepped up and delivered us 20 or so new reels plus serviced all of our old ones and made them brand new. The water temps at the 29 buoy (tuna grounds) have been hovering around 51-52 degrees. That is about 4-5 degrees warmer than normal. I think we will be catching tuna in June this year. I can't wait. Captain Mike
