We were into the fish pretty quick and almost had the boat plugged by one (we left the dock at 8:30).
We hunted for the last few and then had a bait stop go and plugged the boat and then some.
Towards the end of the stop a client said "big shark" and Clark started screaming MAKO, MAKO.
Clark grabbed our mako rig, sliced off a tuna belly, and began to hunt.
Pretty soon the mako decided to eat one of our tuna on the surface.
Clark pitched the belly and got the mako to bite.
I got a gaff into it right away and 10 minutes later we had a 130 or so pound mako in the boat.
Clark was out of his mind and screaming like a little girl, as he is in love with makos.
We ran back in on a flat ocean at 27 knots.
Great crew, great ocean, great fishing.
DirtyE and Clark are at it in the AM.
